Police to Issue Summons With Photo of Vehicle Starting May 1

KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 (Bernama) -- From May 1, police will issue summonses photographs of vehicles violating traffic regulations in areas monitored by closed-circuit television.

Police car capture the suspect

Deputy Inspector General of Police Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar said Thursday that the new procedure would be used for all traffic offences, including speeding and failure to use seat belts.

He expects the new procedure to leave little chance of mistaken identity.

"But, if there are still people who claim that police have got the wrong vehicle (even with a picture attached to the summons), they should produce evidence of the mistake at any traffic counter," he told reporters here.

In areas without CCTV, summonses will be issued as usual by traffic officers, Khalid said.

The Deputy IGP also said that stern action would be taken against any police personnel found to have refused to accept a report from a member of the public.

Khalid said the top police management had received many complaints about policemen and officers refusing to take reports from the public.

He said this errant behavior was discussed in the Delivery Task Force meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in Putrajaya Thursday.

Khalid told the public that the next time a policeman refused to take their report, they should note his number.

How to Protect CCTV System from Lightning Dangers?

There are many cases involve CCTV Camera and lightning danger. To protect the CCTV Camera, the customers should now the surge protector.

What is surge protector? Surge protector is an appliance designed to protect electrical devices from voltage spikes. A surge protector attempts to limit the voltage supplied to an electric device by either blocking or by shorting to ground any unwanted voltages above a safe threshold.

The terms of Surge Protection Device (SPD) is used to describe the electrical devices typically installed in power distribution panels, process control system, communication systems, and other heavy-duty industrial system, for the purpose of protecting against electrical surges and spikes, including those caused by lightning. Scaled-down version of these devices is sometimes installed in residential service entrance electrical panels, to protect equipment in a household from similar hazard.

Many power strips have basic surge protection built in, this are typically clearly labeled as such. However, power strips that do not provide surge protection are sometimes erroneously referred to as “surge protectors” by persons  who do not understand their purpose and function (Wikipedia).

Illustration of Lightning Dangers

Here are some tips to protect your CCTV system from lightning dangers:
If you think you know how to make your CCTV system safe from lightning, please think again!

How to be safe from lightning?
  1. Believe that there are many Point-of-Dangers (PoDs) and this PoDs can affect the CCTV system in a bad way;
  2. Learn where the CCTV system are located and do something beforehand, because while indoors, you will not be aware of impending dangers from lightning;
  3. If you are aware of impending dangers from lightning, do not go near any PoD! There is no safe-time to unplug anything.
Do something right beforehand:
  1. Isolate each CCTV system from induced lightning surges, with lightning isolators (surge protector device)!
  2. Do not go near any CCTV system while bare-footed! Wear rubber sandals or stand on dry and insulated floor-mat or Equal Potential Safety Mat (EPSM), if you have one installed;
  3.  Use remote-control, if possible;
  4.  Be warned: INSURANCE is not a safety-measure! It is a cut-loss measure, often associated with dangers that could not be technologically avoided. Lightning dangers are avoidable, now!
How to create Safe-Island for your CCTV system?
  1. Identify all CCTV equipment in a setup and all must draw power from one and the same power surge protector only;
  2.  Identify all the connections from this island to outside the CCTV system or to another island (including earth or ground wire, if any);
  3. Choose one or more lightning isolator (surge protector) suitable for the purpose, and install correctly;
  4. Interconnections within this island can be directly interconnected, as safe-cables! Safe-cables must not be too near to un-safe cables (from outside this island)!
  5. Any direct connection to outside, not via surge protector, renders this island to become un-safe!

CCTVMALAYSIA2u.com provide full range of Video surge protectors help prevent damage to sensitive electronic equipment due to differences in ground potential, power surges and area lightning strikes. It is easily installed between the coax video cable and equipment connection jack, our surge protectors intercept repeated surges and ground along a conductive wire without any loss of signal quality. These products offer a combined surge handling capacity of 4,000 watts.

SKY-300
Innovative wireless solution
for elevator/ lift CCTV system

SKY-300 is the first laser optical video transmission system in Malaysia which is specially designed for elevator/lift surveillance security system to solve the cabling and installation problems. There are some benefits of installing wireless CCTV system instead of coaxial cables.

Installation of elevator CCTV system involves running coaxial cables and enormous labour work, especially in high rise buildings. Damage in coaxial cables is inevitable, and requires regular maintenance. Installation, maintenance, and inspection of elevator CCTV with coaxial cables are difficult and time-consuming.

SKY-300 is the solution for that problem. SKY-300 provides an attractive wireless video transmit solution for elevator with easy installation and at a low cost, replacing the impractical coaxial cables and other accessories. SKY-300 is a solution for wireless communication and the most economical system for elevator CCTV in the market.

Features of the wireless surveillance system in elevator:
  •  Max up to 990ft (300m) Operational Distance.
  •  High quality image transmission (DVD quality resolution).
  •  Real-time transmission.
  •  No need for frequency license and fee.
  •  No interference and no latency.
  • The system is cost effective to implement. The cost of wiring a conventional elevator  surveillance system exceeds the cost of the whole project.
  • The system is portable. It can be dismantled and reinstall in other premises should the end user decide to relocate their office premises.
  • The system is practically maintenance free and malfunctioned components can be replaced easily.
  • The system can be enhanced easily to incorporate internet viewing, digital recording and to be integrated into the end user’s existing security surveillance system.

CCTV cameras to monitor crime in Klang

Source: http://thestar.com.my

 THIRTEEN areas in Klang will be installed with CCTV cameras to monitor crime, traffic flow and natural disasters round the clock.
The CCTV cameras will be installed in busy streets, shopping malls, commercial centres, traffic light junctions and housing estates.
Klang Municipal Council president Datuk Mislan Tugiu said the move was aimed at checking various problems including traffic woes and crime.
 See this: Mislan checking on the CCTV cameras with I-reponz team member Khairun Najahuddin at the control centre.
“We have a control centre at our office to monitor these areas round the clock.
“The CCTVs will enable us to check the traffic situation including congestion and road accidents, crime as well as natural disasters such as floods or landslides in these areas,’’ he said during a visit to the control room.
Mislan said the council was working closely with the police and that the local authority would be alerted when a crime occurred at a particular spot.
 “We can also send in our team to ease traffic congestion or help police in their operation when the need arises,’’ he said.
Mislan said the CCTV cameras were installed under the Housing and Local Government Ministry programme.
 At work: Members of the I-reponz team manning the control room.
He said the council’s Communications and Public Complaints Department would monitor the control centre after office hours.
“This way, the control room and the I-reponz team will be working more closely,’’ he said.
Council communications and public complaint director Norfiza Mahfiz said the public would be able to get better service through the integration of the control room and the hotline.
“It will help our team to have a clear idea of the situation on the ground, especially if the complaints come from the areas that have been installed with the CCTV cameras.
